One New Zealand Stadium
One New Zealand is a covered stadium built on an inner-city site at the eastern edge of the Christchurch CBD. Designed to host major events both local and international, the stadium has scalable capacity to ensure it remains fit for purpose for smaller concerts, shows and events; this includes 25,000 permanent and 5,000 temporary seats, and a total maximum capacity of 36,000 for large concerts. Once completed, Te Kaha will be New Zealand’s premier and most accessible, inclusive, sustainable, and flexible venue.
The award winning Kōtui consortium – led by international experts BESIX Watpac in partnership with Southbase Construction and local designers – has collaborated to design and deliver this state-of-the-art arena which will add to the central city’s vitality, catalyse further development, help re-establish Christchurch as a sporting and cultural capital, and boost the city’s economy by attracting visitors from around New Zealand and the world.
