Supporting local economies
Southbase are committed to contributing to local economies by employing local people, and working with small medium enterprises.
In 2025 over 85% of our supply chain was made up of SMEs, and a significant portion of those were from within the same region as the project was located.
Upstream partnership
Southbase is proud to partner with Upstream, a charity that turns business spend into support for youth mental health across Aotearoa. By choose Upstream aligned suppliers, Southbase helps fun vital mental health services for young people, simply through the way we do business. To date, our partnership with Upstream has generated over $70,000 in donations.

We tailor our community engagement, health and wellbeing, and learning strategies to meet the needs of each project. We recognise that different sectors, clients, geographies, and social demographics require a refined and thoughtful approach to creating the greatest impact and leave lasting legacies. This commitment continues to drive the initiatives we deliver and strengthens our partnerships with charities and non-profit organisations.
Our community initiatives
The Southbase team shows their support for people and communities by often taking part in charity sports events, local nature clean-ups and sponsorship of sports teams.



Developing future leaders
We partner with education providers ARA (Christchurch) and Massey University (Auckland) students to provide on- site work experience, site tours and guest lecturing. We also sponsor a number of schools and community organisations including Keystone Trust.
