Delivered on time and on budget
This purpose-built warehouse upgrade project was successfully managed and delivered despite the challenges of a live site and low level contamination.
Southbase leveraged their sub-contractor networks and developed a pragmatic programme in order to increase the pace of the project and therefore create greater efficiencies for the Client.
The ‘can do’ attitude of the Southbase Team and their focus on delivering a great result facilitated a solution-focused atmosphere that enabled the handover of the project on time and on budget.
Challenges and Solutions
This construction project was undertaken in a live site environment that required extreme care in terms of health, safety and the environment. Southbase had to develop and implement strict protocols and standards to effectively address dust, traffic and noise management throughout the duration of the project.
Southbase’s staged approach to construction required careful planning and co-ordination between all sub-contractors and the Client to ensure a pragmatic but efficient programme of works.
Low level site contamination created other challenges that Southbase resolved by bundling it on-site and incorporating it into the landscaping. This active form of treatment was accepted by Christchurch City Council and resulted in additional cost savings for the Client.
