A subsidiary company of the Southbase Group, our major shareholders are Ben Gough (Gough Group), Philip Carter (Carter Group) and Quin Henderson as Chief Executive.
As well as being chairman of Southbase Construction, John is a director of dual listed company Kathmandu Holdings Limited. John is a consultant at New Zealand’s leading full service law firm, Chapman Tripp, and was a partner for 19 years. During his legal career John acted on a number of high profile construction projects, in particular in the energy sector. John regularly provided advice to clients on the advantages and disadvantages of various construction procurement options. John is a chartered member of the Institute of Directors and for four and a half years was a member of the New Zealand Securities Commission.
Nicki joined Carter Group as General Counsel in 2014, after more than 12 years’ experience as a commercial solicitor working in private practice and in-house. At Carter Group, she plays an integral role in The Crossing redevelopment, using her understanding of the construction processes from a client’s perspective. In 2013, Nicki completed a Master of Science in Management at Stanford University and she also holds a LLB (Hons) and BCom from Canterbury University.
Brett is the CEO of the Ben Gough Family Office and Tailorspace Limited, overseeing all portfolio investment, financial and philanthropic activities for the family. With a 20-year career in corporate finance and private equity investment, Brett has also held executive roles in the energy and technology sectors.
Added to his director role for Southbase Construction Ltd, Brett is a director on the board of Enable Networks Ltd, Masterguard Fire & Security Ltd and Canterbury Seismic Instruments Ltd. Brett is Chairman for the Foundation Trust Board at St Margaret’s College.
Currently retiring from role of Managing Director of Fulton Hogan, Nick has over 20 years experience within the construction and infrastructure sectors. Featuring on the Board of the Australian Constructors Association, a former chairman of the Roading NZ Industry Association Board, a former Chief Executive of Isaac Construction, a Fellow of IPENZ and a director of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
