The MPI PHEC facility

The MPI PHEC facility is a secure bio-containment facility that includes the PEQ greenhouses, tissue culture facility and containment laboratories that must meet the minimum biocontainment standards defined to identify pests and diseases that could affect plants and the environment. The facility must be specified, constructed and maintainable to ensure that plant material held within the facility and any biosecurity risk associated with them are always effectively managed to ensure containment.
