Credentials & Track Record

Our credentials are built on real work: more than $3 billion delivered across New Zealand, most of it under early contractor and design and construct models where our partners rely on us from day one.

Proven capability. A track record you can stand behind. The credentials behind every build.

Since 2013, Southbase has grown from a Christchurch rebuild contractor into a national business with more than 200 industry experts. We’ve delivered 160 projects, 85% of them under PCSA or design and construct models, where we’re accountable for programme, cost and quality from the outset.

We’ve delivered two of the South Island’s biggest infrastructure projects, One New Zealand Stadium at Te Kaha and Dunedin Hospital Outpatient Building. In the North Island, more than $500 million of work is under way, backed by a secured $1 billion pipeline.

We’ve delivered $475 million in health projects and sit on Health New Zealand’s National Panel of Major Project Delivery Partners. Our joint venture with Built extends our capacity on the country’s largest programmes.

ISO-accredited management systems for safety, quality, programme and cost sit behind every project, and we’re Toitū Net Carbon Zero certified. We remain 100% New Zealand owned and operated.

Peter Vause

Capital Programme Manager, Massey University

“What’s unique about Southbase is their collaboration with the client, but also their understanding and their willingness to walk in the client’s shoes. On the Innovation Complex they sat with us through every design decision, brought options rather than problems, and held the programme when the market moved against us. That is why we keep coming back.”

Tanya Syddall

Director Property & Campus Development, University of Otago

“A huge thank you to Southbase and their subcontractors and design team for the delivery of this outstanding building. I am particularly grateful for the true collaboration and partnership developed between the university and Southbase – a project journey that required people to lean in and develop trust – and we couldn't have achieved it any other way.”

Richard Edmundson

Principal, Te Aratai College

“One of the great things about these buildings is they completely reflect community aspiration and what the community values for an educational programme. We're going to have a true community school. Southbase has a very impressive track record of…projects that really emotionally matter.”
