Chair at Southbase
Susan has chaired and served on public, private, iwi-owned, community and NZX-listed boards since 1997.
Susan currently chairs Ospri, the organisation responsible for national animal tracing and the eradication of bovine TB and M. bovis. She was Deputy Chair and then Chair of Ngāi Tahu Property, chaired Leaderbrand for six years, and was a director of NZX-listed Marsden Maritime Holdings. Her sector experience covers infrastructure and property, aviation, agriculture, horticulture, FMCG, professional services and primary healthcare.
Susan brings deep expertise in te ao Māori; she has led governance workshops for more than 30 iwi groups and holds a Master's in Māori and Indigenous Leadership from the University of Canterbury, with a thesis on Māori governance.
