For almost a decade now, BIM has been used extensively in Preformance design and build projects and as part of their PCSA delivery strategy. Most recently Preformance used BIM for high-profile projects such as Christchurch’s Tūranga Library and Massey University’s Innovation Complex in Auckland; BIM was instrumental in the successful collaboration necessary for the latter project, identifying areas requiring adjustment to accommodate intersecting components associated with the complex fit-out requirements.
This led to cost savings for the project, as well as the avoidance of trades rework.
Through strong collaboration and cross-team communication strategies Preformance will guide, advise, explain and troubleshoot every step of the way. Robust communication of potential impacts identified will be shared across the team, engaging the solution process. Not just used for design phases, the BIM team also point cloud scan projects throughout the construction phase - allowing a snapshot of progress while providing accurate as- built information to assist with future asset management.
